A Showrunner in the Making.

On some level Ashley Reyes always knew that she was a storyteller.

So when it finally came time to go to film school, Ashley moved to California, enrolled at Chapman University, and quickly realized that showrunning and screenwriting were the two areas of filmmaking that she was most passionate about.

Next, Ashley enrolled in Chapman’s Showrunner program- a filmmaking endeavor that made her responsible for producing an original pilot episode from start to finish. “Being a producer on set was really involved and challenging, but in many ways, gave me the professional foundation I need to pursue comedic storytelling and showrunning on a professional level,” said Reyes.

Now a graduate of Chapman pursuing her Masters degree in TV writing and Producing, Ashley wants to bring everything she’s learned in film school onto a movie set, producing a wide variety of genres ranging from comedy, to drama, to animation.

As Hollywood Casting and Film prepares for its 2022 production season, Reyes doesn’t only look forward to telling an original story, she’s also excited to meet execs in the TV/Film industry, who can begin to expand her knowledge about producing and showrunning, and be present during table reads to provide professional notes.

Similarly, HC&F is equally excited to have Ashley on board as an HC&F Artist in Residence, because we’re always looking to help foster talent, and nurture the art of original comedic storytelling in the world of independent film.

Ashley will be casting her new film with Hollywood Casting and Film in February.
